Steinbach is a district of the large district town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet lies on the Steinbach, which is a right tributary of the Tauber . The frame wood borders in the north. A local road leads to State Road 2268 at the Weißenmühle (0.3 km to the west). The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .

history

In the Geographical Lexicon (1802) the place is described as follows:

"Steinbach, commonly Steinbächla, the whole of the imperial town of Rothenburgischer within the state borders, three quarters of an hour away from the city hamlet, against Creglingen [Sp. 426] to, of 10 municipal rights and 11 households. The owners, like the Detwangers, have civil rights and are counted as part of the city. The place is parish to Betwar. One quarter of the large, small and wine tenth belongs to the hospital and three quarters of private ones there. "

With the community edict (early 19th century), the place was assigned to the tax district and the municipal community of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
