Harry Fuss
Harry Fuss , also Harry Fuß (born August 1, 1913 in Vienna ; † April 21, 1996 there ) was an Austrian actor .
Life
Harry foot made his graduation at grammar school and then went to a hotel school. After a brief occupation in the hotel business, he completed the acting seminar under Rudolf Beer in 1934 .
He received his first engagement for the 1935/1936 season at the theater in Brno . In 1936/1937 he played at the Theater in der Josefstadt , from 1937 to 1939 at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and from 1940/1941 at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe .
1942-1944, he worked at various Viennese stages, namely at the Raimund Theater , Citizens Theater , City Theater and the Renaissance Theater . After the war he continued his career at the art theater (1945 to 1947) and at the Theater in der Josefstadt (1947/1948).
From 1952 to 1984 he was a member of the ensemble of the Wiener Volkstheater , where he participated in numerous performances, including as Alfred in the Austrian premiere of Horváth's Tales from the Vienna Woods on December 1, 1948 with Karl Skraup and Inge Konradi , a performance that was one of The greatest theater scandals of the post-war period were, The case of Mary Dugan (1950), Bluntschli in George Bernard Shaws Helden (1952), Frau Warren's trade (1952), Schufterle in Schiller's Die Räuber (1959), architect Ullrich in Hermann Bahr's Wienerinnen (1960) , Animal tamer in Frank Wedekind's Die Büchse der Pandora , Bruno Mechelke in Gerhart Hauptmann's Die Ratten (1968), landlord in Lessing's Minna von Barnhelm (1976) as well as numerous roles in plays by Johann Nestroy (director: Gustav Manker ), so thirty years from the Life of a Lumpen (1966), My Friend (1955), Zwirn in Lumpazivagabundus (1957) with Fritz Muliar and Walter Kohut and Scheitermann in Earlier Relationships (1979).
Guest performances have taken him to the Bavarian State Theater , the Ruhr Festival in Recklinghausen , the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel (Schnoferl in Nestroy's Das Mädl aus der Vorstadt and Zwirn in Lumpazivagabundus ), the Theater an der Wien and the Hamburg Thalia Theater . From 1959 to 1969 he was the main actor in the production “Pawlatschentheater” at the Wiener Festwochen . In addition to his intensive work as a theater actor , Fuss also took on small to medium-sized roles in film productions.
His grave is in the Hernalser Friedhof in Vienna (group D, number 196).
