Hechelbach is a district of the Obernzenn market in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Hechelbach, which is a left tributary of the Zenn , flows through the village . Immediately to the west of the village is the Herrlohe forest area , about 0.5 km to the southwest is the vineyard , and about 0.75 km to the northwest is the old oak field . A community road leads past the Schafhof to Limbach (2 km northwest) or to Unteraltenbernheim to state road 2413 (0.9 km south).

history

The place was first mentioned in a deed from the year 1294 as "Hegelbach" especially when Konrad IV. Of Nuremberg and his wife Agnes the Teutonic Order , the castle Virnsberg with Eingehörungen, including Hechelbach, over appropriated. The place originally consisted of three large courtyards. It was not until 1879 that two of these farms were broken up into nine farms by dividing the estate.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were eight properties in Hechelbach (3 courtyards, 4 fiefdoms, parish hall). The high court exercised the Obervogteiamt Virnsberg . The Teutonic Order Coming Virnsberg held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .

As part of the community edict, Hechelbach was assigned to the Oberaltenbernheim tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Oberaltenbernheim formed in 1811 . With the second community edict (1818) it was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community Unteraltenbernheim . On May 1, 1978, Hechelbach was incorporated into Obernzenn as part of the regional reform .

The place has remained predominantly Catholic even after the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Martin (Unteraltenbernheim) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish after the Assumption of Mary (Sondernohe) .
