history

Frauendorf Church

Frauendorf

The place name of Frauendorf, like the name of the also Frohburg district of Bubendorf , is said to be in connection with the pilgrimage church in neighboring Nenkersdorf . In 1350 the place name "Vrowindorf" or "Frowendorf" is documented, from 1391 "Frauendorf". The place formed an enclave in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office Borna until 1856 , which belonged proportionally to the offices of Colditz and Rochlitz . While the Colditzer portion of Frauendorf was Amtsdorf, the Rochlitz portion was subject to the jurisdiction of the Königsfeld manor .

Hermsdorf

Hermsdorf was mentioned in 1350 as "Hermansdorf". Like the neighboring towns of Upper and Lower Franconia , the place was divided between the offices of Rochlitz and Borna until 1856. Like the Rochlitz share of Frauendorf, the Rochlitz share belonged to the jurisdiction of the Königsfeld manor. The Borna part was under the jurisdiction of the Wolftitz manor in 1551 , and under the Syhra manor around 1764 .

Common story

Frauendorf and Hermsdorf belonged to the Frohburg court office from 1856 and to the Borna district administration from 1875 .

On April 1, 1934, Hermsdorf was incorporated into Frauendorf. During the second district reform of the GDR in 1952, Frauendorf and its Hermsdorf district were assigned to the Geithain district in the Leipzig district , which became part of the Leipziger Land district in 1994 and the Leipzig district in 2008. The incorporation of Frauendorf to Frohburg took place on January 1, 1999. The place did not make use of the opportunity to form a local council.
