Himmelreich and Höllental is a detective radio play from the radio crime scene series . The original text comes from Christine Lehmann , who introduced the Stuttgart investigative duo, designed for Südwestrundfunk , for the first time, Chief Detective Nina Brändle and Chief Detective Xaver Finkbeiner. Himmelreich und Höllental first aired on March 5, 2008. In addition to the main actors, other well-known speakers and actors appeared with Klaus Spürkel , Wolfgang Hepp and Barbara Wurster .

The present 3rd case of the entire series and the first case of the Stuttgart crime scene primarily revolves around a ruthless murder of a fraudulent meat manufacturer, into which the investigating officers are drawn more by chance.

content

The first case of the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office in Stuttgart also introduces the figures. The stoic and silent South Baden chief criminal Xaver Finkbeiner is to set up the new department 8, "Operative case analysis", as a profiler . His new colleague, Chief Detective Nina Brändle, will be at his side in the future. The talkative blonde Swabian with rough manners is more than in one respect an alternative to Finkbeiner. After an almost fatal motorcycle accident, the police officer, who is temporarily dependent on walking aids, is no longer allowed to work in the field.

Since the moving boxes are still waiting to be unpacked in his office , Finkbeiner takes a break . In his old home, the southern Black Forest , he would like to visit his old friend, the veterinarian Florian Goll. But during a hike together on the idyllic hunter's path, Goll reveals his worries to his friend: the 13-year-old daughter suffers from a serious illness, the marriage is in jeopardy and just a few days earlier Goll had found a brutally murdered dead person on the hunter's path.

This is the meat manufacturer Herbert Wanner, who was said to have sold horse meat as deer meat and thus made an unfair profit. But does this case of economic crime explain such a brutal and inhuman murder? At the latest when the second corpse is in the pathology department , it is clear to the chief detective that there is more to the case and that there is a lot going on in Himmelreich im Höllental . When he saw himself threatened a little later, his actually rather unpopular and quick-witted colleague is more than welcome to him.

background

The pilot episode of the SWR crime series has its setting in Himmelreich im Höllental . This is just before Kirchzarten and bears its name because the Höllental comes to an end there.

Dramaturge Uta-Maria Heim on the cast: “One is a lazy Black Forest native, the other a talkative city dweller: That doesn't work at all. Xaver Finkbeiner and Nina Brändle are like fire and water. Or vice versa, as the name Brändle suggests. With Ueli Jäggi and Karoline Eichhorn we have found the ideal cast. The Finkbeiner was conceived directly on Jäggi and I am very happy that we were able to win him over to the series. And Karoline Eichhorn is a wonderful counterpart . ”The moderator Jürgen Hörig speaks to himself, so to speak.

Reviews

Ueli Jäggi, spokesman for Xaver Finkbeiner
  • “With the first crime scene of the SWR from the pen of Christine Lehmann it became clear that one could be able to set a qualitative highlight here. The duo Finkbeiner / Brändle is not only very entertaining because of the fixed regional connection, but above all the cases know how to convince. "
  • “When it comes to the SWR's first radio station, they rely on the down-to-earth. The protagonists wear their regional identity on their tongues - as we already know from other crime fiction formats on the station - and thus ensure a lot of flair and recognition value . In addition, you create a lot of material in the framework story by designing the main characters as differently as you can justify. (...) The case is told pleasantly and comes into its own without any big bang. "
  • “The story by author Christine Lehmann is told in a compact way, fills the short running time of 48 minutes without length and plays skillfully with small flashbacks. The tricky task of introducing the two main characters falls to the first SWR radio play as part of the ARD Radio Tatort series. Lehmann skilfully removes the profiler's past from the Black Forest plot, and employee Brändle is not left entirely on the left either. The thriller radio play, held in dialect, spreads a lot of local color and entertains pleasantly calm. "
  • “Kingdom of Heaven and Hell Valley” was the third radio play crime thriller in the RadioTatort series in which the SWR had its team of investigators investigated by the Stuttgart LKA in Baden for the first time. This also took into account the principle of proportional representation of the SWR. In the south of the country you don't have to allow investigators from western and eastern cultures to meet; people from Baden and Württemberg are enough. But the screenwriter Christine Lehmann solved this very charmingly with sympathetic characters and dialogues that one liked to listen to. "
  • "Since then, all of the state broadcasters have been broadcasting the new ARD Radio Tatort once a month, using the creative potential of their best crime writers and attracting additional attention to the traditional radio art form of radio play. The radio Tatort has now reached an audience of millions, and the high number of hits on the Internet (www.radiotatort.ard.de) confirms the acceptance of these thrillers. "
  • “In the media in which the references to radio broadcasts, if any, could only be found with a magnifying glass, radio is being heard again. And the reviews - no matter how they turn out - they are even detailed! "
