Total Loss first aired on April 16, 2011. In addition to the main actors, Christiane Paul , Leslie Malton , Gerd Baltus , Kai Maertens and Konstantin Graudus also performed well-known speakers.

The present 40th case of the entire series and sixth case of the Hamburg crime scene primarily revolves around the machinations of a criminal investment company in Lübeck, a “creative” art dealer, Russian music producers who specialize in talent shows for Eastern European women, and money laundering .

content

Detective Chief Inspector Bettina Breuer from LKA Hamburg and her colleague Ingrid Keller from the Lübeck police immediately suspected: In the premises of ARTRANS, ostensibly responsible for international art trade, a drug addict is found dead with a wound through his heart. Since he was wearing an expensive suit for 1500 euros , in clear contradiction to his possible criminal offenses , both policewomen see the victim as a straw man . They suspect a connection between ARTTRANS, the criminal investment company , to Eastern Europe . In addition comes after the ballistic investigations crime scene the murder weapon, a Tokarev TT-33 - gun , from the " Patriotic Great War " of the former Soviet Union . Another suspicious find by forensics brings the investigative team on to an additional lead. In the ARTTRANS space there is a valuable drawing , the artist of which is usually represented by a gallery in Lübeck . The drawing was sold by a Russian who actually makes his living as a music producer and talent scout in the music industry . Consequently, to undercover agent Jac Garth man undercover at a talent show against the Russians notes or even produce evidence.

The cool, pragmatic career policeman Breuer and the intuitive side entrant Garthmann, whose concert activities as a pianist and solo entertainer conceal his investigative work, will collide several times, as Breuer always wonders why this amateur has been assigned to her. But Garthmann's observation and moral instinct will give her the best direction several times.

background

After the first part of the Hamburg crime scene series, Dirty Laundry , the story and characters of which were designed by the writer Frank Göhre , Matthias Wittekindt took the template for the fifth time . In the following, the series of the Hamburg radio crime scene next to Wittekindt ( Death of a Diver , The Yellow Vices , Störtebeker's Revenge , Total Loss , The Blue Yacht ) was designed by Elisabeth Herrmann ( Schlick , Sunken Graves , Chicken Highway ).

Martin Reinke was asked in the interview that he would have created the role of Jac Garthmann in a very “Hamburg-style” way: “It's a kind of declaration of love to my hometown Hamburg. I'm a stage actor and unfortunately I only had one chance to play hamburgers on stage. And now I am finally lucky with Jac Garthmann to color him linguistically. "

Unlike in most of the previous cases, this time the introduction does not go through the character of Jac Garthmann, although he plays an important role in the further course of the story and the investigation. Director Stricker himself spoke one of the supporting roles.

review

  • “A new case for the NDR investigative team. - So far, the frame has usually been a bit more brittle, as the two main characters usually remained a bit colorless. The stories themselves weren't that bad, though. In the event of a total loss, this shifts a little. The plot is very original and mixes a lot of interesting elements. Even if the business model in focus seems a bit strange and the introduction to the haze of the art gallery is very threadbare, the decisive motif based on it is then again very coherent and well constructed. However, the listener has to be very alert here, because with the contexts that are not always easy to understand, you can quickly lose the thread. The figures are also given some color. (...) The implementation is very successful. Sven Stricker tells the story with some finesse. (...) The speakers act very well in their roles; The well-chosen cast is particularly noticeable in the accented characters. The language clichés move within an adequate framework so that the characters appear very authentic overall. A radio station well worth listening to, which is particularly impressive in terms of its presentation. The case itself looks a bit constructed at first, but the motifs fit again in the end, so that you can get over this. "
  • “In the media in which the references to radio broadcasts, if any, could only be found with a magnifying glass, radio is being heard again. And the reviews - no matter how they turn out - they are even detailed! "
