Ioannis Gelios ( Greek Ιωάννης Γκέλιος ; born April 24, 1992 in Augsburg , Germany ) is a Greek - German football player . He will be under contract with Holstein Kiel from the 2019/20 season .
Career
society
The tall Gelios began playing football at MBB-SG Augsburg at the age of seven , initially as a field player, and finally as a goalkeeper since the E-youth. At the age of eight he was accepted by FC Augsburg . He completed his entire other junior career in Augsburg and made 24 appearances in the A-Junior Bundesliga in the 2010/11 season . In 2011 he received his first professional contract with the FCA. Gelios experienced the preliminary sporting climax in 2012 with the reserve team of Augsburg, who prevailed in a promotion round against Rosenheim and Schweinfurt and were promoted to the Bavarian regional league. Ioannis Gelios played his first four games for Augsburg's second set. Until 2018 he played 112 times for Augsburg II in the fourth division. There were also two more missions to stay in the regional league against TSV 1860 Rosenheim in the promotion round 2016 . The goalkeeper did not appear in the Bundesliga team of his long-term club .
In summer 2018, after more than 17 years at FC Augsburg, he moved to third division club FC Hansa Rostock , where he started the 2018/19 season as a goalkeeper for the Ostseestädter and played 37 of 38 league games. For the first time in his football career, Gelios took part in the DFB Cup . In the first main round, the Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart was defeated, in the second main round Rostock was eliminated from the competition against 1. FC Nürnberg .
Gelios terminated his contract in Rostock for the 2019/20 season and joined the second division Holstein Kiel . From the seventh match day he took over the regular place in the goal of Dominik Reimann with the storks .

Gelios played five times for Greece's U21 national team .
