Dominik Reimann (born June 18, 1997 in Münster ) is a German soccer goalkeeper . He has been under contract with Holstein Kiel since summer 2018 . He is a multiple German junior national player.

Career

society

Reimann started playing football at ESV Münster at home . At the age of seven he was accepted into the youth performance center of the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund . With Dortmund's U17 he was B-Junior Champion in 2014 , one year later with the U19 A-Youth Champion.

Before he came of age, he was the regular goalkeeper of the A-youth team once in the Bundesliga and twice in the reserve squad in the third division . From the 2016/17 regional league season , Reimann was the first goalkeeper for the second team, but missed most of the season due to a shoulder injury. In his last season he was in goal 26 times in Regionalliga West and was the third professional goalkeeper behind Roman Bürki and Roman Weidenfeller .

After his contract expired, Reimann moved to second division Holstein Kiel in summer 2018 , which had just failed in the promotion relegation at VfL Wolfsburg . At his first professional position he couldn't get past the first goalkeeper Kenneth Kronholm in preparation and also lost the race against Timon Weiner, who was also new in the summer and from then on stood between the posts in the second team that had been promoted to the Regionalliga Nord . In a 5-1 win over FC Erzgebirge Aue on matchday 26 of the 2018/19 season , he made his first professional appearance for the injured Kronholm. After Kronholm left the club for the USA, Reimann was used for the last season games as number 1. He started the 2019/20 season as a regular goalkeeper. After a false start with the storks , he lost his place in the goal from the seventh matchday on to Ioannis Gelios and was only used two more times.

National team

Reimann is a multiple junior national player. With the German U19 he won the friendly four-nation tournament Elite Cup in autumn 2015 , at the U20 World Cup 2017 , in which Germany was eliminated in the round of 16 against Zambia, he played a group game.
