Stefan Thesker (born April 11, 1991 in Ahaus ) is a German soccer player who is currently under contract with Holstein Kiel .

Career

He started playing soccer at TuS Wüllen at the age of four and then spent three years in the youth department of FC Schalke 04 . In 2005 he was drawn to the FC Twente youth team . Here the defender went through the other youth teams and was part of the squad of the second team Jong FC Twente in the 2010/11 season . The Enscheder enrolled him in this season's UEFA as a defender with the squad number 40 on the "B-list" for their Champions League cadres, however, until the winter break 2010/11 he was not in the Champions League in the Eredivisie for Commitment. In order to collect more match practice in the second half of the season, he was loaned to Fortuna Sittard in January 2011 . He made his debut in the Eerste Divisie on January 21, 2011. In the 3-0 defeat of coach Wim Dusseldorp's team at FC Dordrecht , he was in the 54th minute, when Fortuna was already outnumbered after being sent off the Belgian striker Fabio Caracciolo came on . In Sittard he was mostly used as a central defender . For the 2011/12 season Thesker returned to FC Twente, where he was again part of the squad of Jong FC Twente , which was coached by Patrick Kluivert .

In the winter break of 2011/12 he received offers from other Dutch first division clubs, but he wanted to join a German club. Here were TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Energie Cottbus interested in him. In the end, Thesker went to the Hoffenheim team. After Thesker had collected almost one and a half seasons in the second team, he made his Bundesliga debut on April 27, 2013 .

For the 2014/15 season , Thesker moved to Hannover 96 together with his teammate Kenan Karaman . He signed a contract until June 30, 2018. After six months with only two appearances, he moved to the second division team SpVgg Greuther Fürth on January 5, 2015 . He received a contract until June 30, 2017.

At the end of 2015, Thesker insulted the doorman several times after being kicked out of a Nuremberg discotheque and made fun of his salary. This incident became public through a 1. FC Nürnberg fan, who recorded a video and uploaded it to Facebook. Club president Helmut Hack spoke up about this incident and spoke of the consequences.

In January 2016 he returned to Enschede on loan until the end of the season. There he stood eight times and scored two goals. He also appeared twice for the club's second representation in the 2015/16 season. On July 14, 2016 it was announced that Thesker was moving permanently to Enschede. He signed a three-year contract. He became the captain of the team that was relegated from the Eredivisie after the 2017/18 season.

For the 2018/19 season he joined Holstein Kiel for three years .
