The Jewish cemetery Limbach in the Lower Franconian Limbach , a district of Eltmann in the district of Haßberge lies southwest of Limbach, near the A70 . There are 154 tombstones ( mazewot ) on an area of ​​30 ares .

history

When the cemetery was inaugurated in 1714, no Jews lived in Limbach itself . The cemetery served as a Jewish association cemetery for the deceased of the Jewish communities of Ebelsbach , Eltmann , Knetzgau and Westheim . In 1763 the cemetery was expanded. The last burial took place in 1938.
