Jürgen Schmitt (born November 5, 1949 in Bonn ) is a German painter , photographer and musician . As Schmitti , he appears especially in the carnival as a composer , songwriter and pop singer . Today he lives and works with the writer Marion Schmitt in Scheven ( Kall in der Eifel ).

Life

In his middle-class life, Schmitt is a painter and photographer and until the end of January 2010 he was a senior teacher for art education in addition to his artistic work . He studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Joseph Beuys and Irmin Kamp and was named a master class student because of his artistic achievements . In 1978 Schmitt passed the second state examination for teaching at grammar school in the subject of art and works. There followed solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. From 1978 to 1982 Schmitt organized exhibitions of well-known artists of the classical modern era in his own art gallery in Brühl (Junge Galerie) ( Salvador Dalí , Rudolf Hausner , Max Ernst , Marc Chagall , Paul Wunderlich , Bruno Bruni , Hans Bellmer , Karin Székessy and others) . Schmitt was a member of the Federal Association of Visual Artists . In 1990 he was accepted into the German Society for Photography (DGPh) due to his photographic and artistic achievements .

Musical career

In 2007 Schmitti composed and wrote the old North German folk song from 1910 You, you lie in my heart to a modern hit. Schmitti's treasure, mer fiere Fastelovend was published on some carnival compilations, for example B. on the double CD sampler Carnival Hits in the Mix . Schmitti wrote the song Himmlisch jeck in 2008.

Schmitti also received in 2008 from Heinz Erhardt composer Erwin Halletz and Beco Verlag the approval to rewrite Heinz Erhardt's famous piece of music, Always when I'm sad, to add an extended special text and to publish it as a modern party hit. The song was released in 2008. Schmitti also recorded the motto song of the Cologne Carnival 2009: Our Fastelovend - Himmlisch jeck and released it on MK Records.

Schmitti has been exclusively under contract with the record label Fiesta Records since 2018 . Schmitti now mostly composes his hits himself. They can also be found on the well-known Ballermann samplers.
