James Winchester (born August 6, 1989 in Washington , Oklahoma ) is an American football player on the position of long snappers . He plays for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Winchester attended high school in his native Washington, Oklahoma. He later attended the University of Oklahoma .

NFL

Winchester was not included in the 2013 NFL Draft . However, the Philadelphia Eagles signed him. He was released on August 25, 2013.

On March 13, 2015, he signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs . On January 23, 2017, he was given a five-year contract with the Chiefs. On the 2nd match day of the 2017 season he scored a fumble against Darren Sproles ; his teammate Anthony Sherman recorded the fumble. On February 2, 2020, he won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs by 31:20 against the San Francisco 49ers .
