Carey Mecole Hardman (* 12. March 1998 in Bowman , Georgia ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . It is also used as a kick returner and a punt returner . Hardman played college football for the University of Georgia and has been with the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL) since 2019 , winning Super Bowl LIV with them .

college

Hardman went to high school in Elbert County , where he played mostly as a quarterback. Hardman played college football from 2016 to 2018 . He attended the University of Georgia , where he played for the Georgia Bulldogs in the NCAA Division I FBS. There he played in the first year as a cornerback before moving to his later position as a wide receiver .

In total, Hardman played 33 games at college, catching 60 passes for 961 yards of gain and 11 touchdowns . He was also regularly used as a return specialist and was able to carry a punt back into the opposing end zone. On January 4, 2019, Hardman announced that he was giving up a possible fourth year of college and enrolling in the NFL Draft .

NFL

Hardman was selected 56th by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2019 NFL Draft in the 2nd round . He made his debut in the first game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars , but could not catch a pass. In his second game against the Oakland Raiders he caught his first touchdown pass with a long pass from Patrick Mahomes for 42 yards of space.

On December 17, 2019, Hardman was nominated for the Pro Bowl as a Return Specialist . In week 17 he managed a kickoff-return touchdown over 104 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers .
