Jason Steele (born August 18, 1990 in Newton Aycliffe ) is an English goalkeeper who is under contract with the English first division club Brighton & Hove Albion .

Career

Steele attended the Middlesbrough FC youth academy and signed a three-year contract in May 2009. On August 10, 2009, he played a full 90 minutes in the Carling Cup in a 2-1 win over Chesterfield. He made his league debut in the 2010/11 season against Leicester City and did not concede a 0-0 goal. In December 2010 he signed a new contract that will run until 2015.

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the Blackburn Rovers .

National team

Jason Steele has run through England's U-16, U-17 and U-19. With the U-17 he took part in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2007 and in 2008 with the U-19 in the UEFA U-19 European Championship. He made his debut for the English U-21s on November 16, 2010 in a 2-0 defeat by the German U-21s .
