Adam Harry Webster (born January 4, 1995 in West Wittering ) is an English football player . The center- back was trained at Portsmouth FC and moved to first division side Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2019 .

Career

Portsmouth FC

At the age of twelve, who was born in southern England Webster started footballing career in the youth of Portsmouth FC , having previously at Southampton FC , the FC Chelsea was even "rebuffed" in Portsmouth itself, and as a 10-year-old. After moving through the age groups, he made his debut ten days after a 17th birthday as a right defender a quarter of an hour before the end by substituting for Greg Halford in the second division game against West Ham United , which was lost 1-0. After the club's relegation to the third division , Webster came as a full-back more often, but after the second relegation in a row , Portsmouth decided to loan Webster from August 2013 to fifth division Aldershot Town until January 2014.

The engagement in Aldershot was finally extended by two months before Webster returned to Portsmouth after a total of 24 league appearances, to complete four more games there in the outgoing 2013/14 season and to score his first two goals. After two more years and 53 competitive games for "Pompey" Webster moved to the second division Ipswich Town in June 2016 . According to press reports, the transfer fee was around £ 750,000; in addition, Ipswichs hired Matt Clarke in Portsmouth.

Ipswich Town & Bristol City

In the years 2016 to 2019, Webster established himself as one of the best defensive players in the second division, which after two seasons and 51 league appearances for Ipswich Town was expressed in the fact that the transfer fee for the subsequent transfer to Bristol City in June 2018 was already 3.5 million And if successful it should grow to as much as eight million pounds. In Bristol, Webster was a top performer in 44 games in a team that narrowly missed the playoff games for promotion to the top English division in the 2018/19 season.

Brighton & Hove Albion

In early August 2019, the club management of the first division club Brighton & Hove Albion and Bristol City agreed on a transfer from Webster for a transfer fee of £ 20 million and a term of four years. For the Seagulls, he celebrated his debut in the league cup on August 27, 2019 against rivals for ex-club Bristol Rovers (2-1) and four days later in the Premier League against reigning champions Manchester City (0-4).
