The moderators Joachim “Joko” Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf are best known as the duo Joko and Klaas . With these names they can be seen primarily in television programs with a comedy connection .

history

Together were Winterscheidt and 2009 first-round Heufer in the MTV telecast MTV Home to see. The change to ZDFneo followed in 2011, but they stayed true to the concept of the previous show with neoParadise . As early as 2010, the duo was entrusted with the moderation of the show Ahnungslos on ProSieben , followed by the program Joko versus Klaas - The Duel Around the World in the summer of 2012. On January 24, 2013, they left the special interest channel ZDFneo to broadcast the last episode of neoParadise finally, to become known to a larger audience with their show Circus HalliGalli at ProSieben, which again follows almost the same concept as MTV Home or neoParadise . The departure from ZDFneo was announced in December 2012.

The duo is particularly popular among teenagers and young adults. Heufer-Umlauf and Winterscheidt were at times as successors for Thomas Gottschalk in the ZDF broadcast Wetten, dass ..? acted. In Spiegel magazine , the team of moderators was described as the "hope of local TV entertainment". On March 27, 2014 the duo received the Echo for Circus HalliGalli and the Grimme Prize in April 2014 . They appeared together in advertising campaigns and commercials for the German savings banks (2011), for the technology manufacturer Apple (2014) and for the beverage producer Granini (2015).

The last edition of their ProSieben program Circus HalliGalli was broadcast on June 20, 2017, which also ended their joint late night show era ( MTV Home , neoParadise and Circus HalliGalli ).

At the end of 2011, Klaas Heufer-Umlauf and Joko Winterscheidt founded the joint production company Florida TV together with Endemol . In this joint venture, which was 51 percent owned by Endemol and 49 percent by Joko and Klaas, they produced all formats. Florida TV ( Black Flamingo for short at the beginning of 2019 ) has been an independent production company of Joko and Klaas since 2019 .

Shortly before Christmas Eve 2018 and 2019, ProSieben broadcast Christmas with Joko and Klaas , a “Christmas revue” with guests and Christmas studio activities.

In May 2020, after their victory in the show Joko & Klaas against ProSieben , Joko and Klaas drew attention to the sexual harassment of women in the 15 minutes made available by the broadcaster at 8:15 p.m. in the show Men Worlds moderated by Sophie Passmann .
