MTV Home was a television show that aired every Friday on MTV from June 12, 2009 to March 10, 2011 . It was moderated by Klaas Heufer-Umlauf and Joko Winterscheidt , better known as the duo Joko and Klaas . It was the first joint broadcast by the moderator duo after Heufer-Umlauf had switched from VIVA to MTV. From January 2011, MTV Home was also broadcast on VIVA on Fridays at 9:15 p.m. because MTV could only be received on pay TV .
As a follow-up to MTV Home, the neoParadise, based on a similar principle, ran weekly on ZDFneo from October 2011 to January 2013 . Then the program Circus HalliGalli started on ProSieben , which neoParadise ended on the basis of an exclusive contract between Joko and Klaas with ProSieben and which is even more similar to the original program MTV Home in terms of themes and presentation.
Show setup
First, the moderators Joko and Klaas ring in the show. The moderators step into the scenery and greet each other and parody each other, for example Klaas once made fun of Joko's appearance as a testimonial in an advertisement broadcast nationwide. However, this exchange of blows does not last very long. In the course of the program, prominent guests who have to answer the questions of the two moderators join in. The show is not only moderated by Joko and Klaas , but also partially supplemented by their colleague Palina Rojinski , who, however, tends to withdraw in the show and practically takes on the job of a sidekick .
In addition to the pure show moderation, the program is also based on clips in which the apparent rivalry between the two moderators is discussed in various actions.
Studio
The studio is kept simple and should represent a shared apartment in which Joko , Klaas and Palina live. The show takes place without an audience (except in the last episode) and was recorded in the Fernsehwerft in Berlin.
Fixed sections and elements of the program
- Audience cribs : Ordinary citizens are surprised late at night by Joko and a cameraman while sleeping in their own apartment. Joko gets the key from friends of the resident. The surprised can then, if he feels like it, present his apartment, like with the American counterpart MTV Cribs .
- Interviews : Mostly with actors or singers who are about to present and promote a new film or album. (External rotation)
- Interview in the box : Some guests who do not come into the studio or are interviewed in the field, come into the box and are interviewed there. The box is supposedly also in the studio, but that's not the case. However, these interviews are only brief and not very detailed.
- House band : In every program there was a new 'band' (house 'band'), which waited behind a curtain for their action, consisted of "normal" people and played playback . The bands “played” so that the commercial breaks could be included in the recording. When they were broadcast, it then appeared as if they always played before and after a commercial break.
- Music performances : In almost every program, real bands appear alongside the house band. These then usually play in the place where Klaas' desk normally stands. For the first time in history, a choir (Scala) performed on December 17, 2010, and classical music was played for the first time.
- If I were you : It's a “rival fight”: Joko and Klaas “swap” their personalities and have to take turns doing whatever their opponent says. The aim is to design the task in such a way that the other refuses to do it. There are also the versions Spontan-If I were you , If I were you XXL and a If I were you at Rock am Ring 2010 , where Klaas had to sing the song Angels by Robbie Williams - in front of more than 90,000 spectators.
- Endure : Also a "rival fight". The aim is to endure painful things as long as possible, for example to stand in the cold almost naked for as long as possible. Whoever can no longer bear what is demanded loses.
- 99 things that a man should have done in his life - with Palina Rojinski : 99 things is the only fixed rubric of Palina Rojinski in which she has to perform tasks that were written by Klaas and Joko. The tasks always represent typical male activities, such as B. light a fart or destroy objects.
