Juergen Schulz (moderator)

Juergen Schulz (born August 2, 1943 in Königsberg / East Prussia ; † June 20, 2020 in Leipzig ) was a German radio and television presenter, author and journalist. Schulz was particularly associated with the MDR .

Life

Schulz grew up with three younger brothers on the Baltic Sea , the family came from the province of East Prussia and came to the Soviet occupation zone in Warnow at the end of the war . After an apprenticeship as a machinist with a high school diploma at the Neptun shipyard in Rostock , the NVA conscription in Halberstadt , he began his career in the GDR times, initially at the Rostock broadcaster with an apprenticeship as a broadcaster and then from 1966 in the regional studio in Neubrandenburg , where he from 1969 until her death in 1973 belonged to the closest circle of friends of the writer Brigitte Reimann , before he switched from Radio DDR II to Funkhaus Springerstraße in 1974 for the Leipzig broadcaster .

Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Schulz took part in the first entertainment formats of the Halle studio for GDR television in the mid-1970s and later created one of the first East German talk shows in Berlin-Adlershof with half an hour . Schulz worked with the moderators Carmen Nebel and Uta Bresan back in the 1980s . With Carmen Nebel, he presented the show " Please rather friendly" on GDR television - hit hits '85 . Since the re-establishment of the MDR broadcasting corporation in 1992, Juergen Schulz u. a. as a radio presenter at MDR Kultur ( MDR KULTUR-Café , 1994 to 2004, with guests such as: Franz Hohler , Daniela Dahn , Peter Ensikat , Erika Pluhar , Inge Keller or Erich Loest as well as Quiz Musikalisches Sonntagsätze , 2000–2010) and active for you as editor, speaker and author of the MDR TV show Music . In 2009 he hosted the MDR show An Evening for Leni Statz . In January 2010 he presented on MDR television Da lay music in it - a Saturday evening show for the 80th birthday of Kammersänger Reiner Süß .

From 2000 to 2010 he worked for MDR KULTUR as the author and presenter of the cult program Sunday Rates, produced readings and participated in radio plays. Juergen Schulz lived in Leipzig and died here at the age of 76.
