Julianowo ( German  Julienfelde ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Dźwierzuty (rural community Mensguth ) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).

Geographical location

Julianowo is located 800 meters east of the Samplatter Lake ( Jezioro Sąpłaty in Polish ) in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 19 kilometers northwest of the district town of Szczytno ( German Ortelsburg ).

history

The small estate Julienfelde was founded in 1854. 300 meters southwest of the village there was a brickworks . Until 1945 Julianowo was a residential area in the rural community Samplatten ( Polish : Sąpłaty ) in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg .

With all of southern East Prussia , Julienfelde came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and received the Polish form of the name "Julianowo". Today the hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) is a place within the rural community Dźwierzuty ( Mensguth , Dorf) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Julienfelde was parish up until 1945 in the Evangelical Church of Mensguth in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church there . The ecclesiastical connection to the village, now called Dźwierzuty , has remained: to the local Catholic parish church in the Archdiocese of Warmia and to the local Protestant church , which is now a subsidiary church of the parish Pasym (Passenheim) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Julianowo is located on a side road that leads from the Polish state road 57 (former German Reichsstraße 128 ) at Dźwierzuty ( Mensguth , village) to Sąpłaty (Samplatten) on the lake of the same name.
