Kateřina Němcová (born November 14, 1990 in Prague ) is a Czech chess player . Since June 2013 she has been playing for the US Chess Federation .

Life

Kateřina Němcová comes from a chess family. Her five sisters as well as her brother successfully play chess with participation in youth world championships. An uncle, Igor Nemec, is president of the Czech Chess Federation ( Šachový svaz České republiky ), another uncle, Norbert Gallinnis , Honored International Master in correspondence chess and FIDE Master in OTB. She studied at the Catholic nursing school Církevní střední zdravotnická škola Jana Pavla II in Prague. In July 2011 she received a scholarship to the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College . She continues her studies in international relations at Webster University in Webster Groves , Missouri .

successes

Single successes

Kateřina Němcová already had many successes in the Czech girls' individual championships in the youth field: 2nd place U-10 in 2000, 2nd place U-12 in 2001, 1st place U-12 in 2002, 1st place U-16 in 2003, 1st place U -14 2003, 1st place U-14 2004, 2nd place U-16 2004, 3rd place U-18 2004, 1st place U-16 2005 and 1st place U-16 2006. At the Czech U20 championship of the female youth in Havlíčkův Brod , which Eva Kulovaná won, she came third. At the U18 World Championship for Women in 2007 in Kemer , she was second behind Walentina Gunina , the U18 European Championship for Women in 2008 in Herceg Novi , as well as the Czech U20 Championship for Women in 2008 in Havlíčkův Brod. In 2010 she won the Czech women's individual championship in Ostrava .

Team chess

National team

For the first time in the Czech women's national team, she was used at the Mitropa Cup 2006 in Brno . On the second board of the Czech Republic 2 team she had a positive result with 3.5 points from 6 games, for example she was able to defeat the Romanian Ioana-Smaranda Pădurariu in Brno . Next she took part on board 4 of the Czech women's national team at the 2007 World Team Championship in Yekaterinburg and at the 2007 European Team Championship in Heraklion . Playing on the second board, Kateřina Němcová won an individual gold medal at the EM for her result of 7.5 points from nine games. With an Elo performance of 2548, she defeated Elina Danieljan and Nataša Bojković, among others . She also played on the second board at the European women's team championships in 2009 and 2011 . She played her first Chess Olympiad in Dresden in 2008 . Club teams

She played team chess in the Czech Republic for SK Oaza Prague and as a guest player for Beskydská šachová škola from Frýdek-Místek , a chess school where she was also used in the Extraliga , the highest Czech division, in the 2008/09 season . In Germany, she first played in the 2006/07 season for the second team of SG Porz . From 2008 to 2011 she played for SC 1957 Bad Königshofen in the 1st women's Bundesliga and the Oberliga Bayern. She also had appearances in the Greek team championship in 2008; there she played for SO Kavalas . In 2014, she played for the Rio Grande Ospreys in the United States Chess League .

Title and rating

Since June 2007 she has held the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). She achieved the standards for this at the Prague Open in January 2007, at the Werdenelcom Masters in Gibraltar a week later and at the European Women's Championship in Dresden in April 2007 , where she was able to defeat Elena Lewuschkina and Lenka Ptáčníková , among others , with overachievement, The Title was applied for in April 2007, but could not be awarded until July 2007 as it had not yet reached the required Elo rating of 2200. She has held the title of Grand Master of Women (WGM) since June 2008. The two WGM standards also qualified her for the title of International Master (IM), which was applied for in October 2008, but she has not yet achieved the required Elo rating of 2400 so that the IM title has not yet been awarded to her .

In October 2017, she was in sixth place in the US women's Elo ranking.
