Kévin Estre (born October 28, 1988 in Lyon ) is a French racing driver . In 2011 he was the overall winner of the French Porsche Carrera Cup and in 2013 he won the title in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. Kevin Estre has been a works driver at Porsche since 2016.

Career

Estre began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 , where he was active until 2005. Among other things, he was the 2004 ICA Kart European Champion. 2006 changed Estre in the single-seater racing and was an instant champion of the French Formula Renault Campus . At the end of the season he was level on points with his teammate Tristan Vautier , but had better individual placements than Vautier. In 2007 Estre competed in the French Formula Renault. He finished the season in eighth place with 46 points, while his teammate Vautier finished fifth.

In 2008, Estre switched to GT racing and competed in the French Porsche Carrera Cup . He won a race and finished his debut season on the fifth championship course. He came second in the junior ranking. In 2009 Estre was the driver who had won the most races in the French Porsche Carrera Cup with five wins. In the championship, however, he was beaten by three pilots and finished fourth. In addition, he won the junior ranking. Estre also took part in two races of the FIA GT3 European Championship this year . In 2010 Estre was only off the podium in one race in the French Porsche Carrera Cup. He won five races. With 200 to 202 points, however, he lost the title duel against his compatriot Frédéric Makowiecki . He won the junior ranking for the second time. In addition to three other starts in the FIA ​​GT3 European Championship, Estre made his debut in the ADAC GT Masters this year and took part in two races there.

In 2011 , Estre was signed by Attempto Racing for the Porsche Supercup . Team principal Arkin Aka had already convinced Estre of his abilities on his first test drive. After placing several points, he won his first victory in the Autodromo Nazionale Monza . With a total of three podium finishes, he finished the season as the best rookie in seventh place overall. At the same time, Estre drove his fourth season in the French Porsche Carrera Cup. After he was on the podium once in the first two races, ten wins followed in the remaining ten races. Estre became dominant champions. Estre also competed in one event each of the Racecar Series , the German Porsche Carrera Cup and the ADAC GT Masters.

In early 2012, Estre took part in the Daytona 24-hour race .
