Kolyschlei ( Russian Колышле́й ) is an urban-type settlement in the Penza Oblast in Russia with 8,312 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The village is 60 km away in a straight line south-southwest of Oblastverwaltungszentrums Pensa , a few kilometers from the right bank of the left Khopyor River -Nebenflusses Kolyschlei removed.

Kolyschlei is the administrative center of the Rajons Kolyschleiski and seat of the municipality (gorodskoje posselenije) Rabotchi Possjolok Kolyschlei, (6 km northeast) which also includes the settlements Jagodny and (4 km to the southwest) are Rodnikowski.

history

The place was created in 1896 as a station settlement during the construction of the railway line ( Charkow  -) Balaschow  - Penza and was named after the river there.

On July 23, 1928 Kolyschlei became the administrative seat of the newly created Rajons named after him. On November 27, 1957, it received urban-type settlement status.

Kolyschlei has a train station at kilometer 198 of the Balaschow - Penza railway line, which opened on this section in 1896 and has been electrified since 1965 .

The settlement is on the regional road 58K-359, which  branches off the federal trunk road R208 Tambov - Penza near Penza , largely follows the railway line and continues via Serdobsk to Bekowo in the extreme southwest of the oblast. In an easterly direction there is a connection to the federal trunk road R158 Nizhny Novgorod  - Penza - Saratov, a good 30 km away .
