Sosnovoborsk ( Russian Сосновобо́рск ) is an urban-type settlement in Penza Oblast in Russia with 6546 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is well 80 km straight line east of Oblastverwaltungszentrums Pensa on the right Sura creek Teschnjar few kilometers above the mouth.

Sosnovoborsk is the administrative center of the Rajons Sosnowoborski and seat and only town of the municipality (gorodskoje posselenije) Rabotchi possjolok Sosnovoborsk.

history

The place goes back to the villages Neskuchnoye and Surski chutor founded at the latest at the beginning of the 19th century . A cloth factory was founded there in 1839. The villages, now known as Alexandrowskoje and Novonikolskaja , were united under the name Litvino in the 1860s , after the noble Mikhail Litvinov, owner of the cloth factory since 1842.

On July 16, 1928, Litvino became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after him as Litwinski and received the status of an urban-type settlement. 1940 received settlement and Rajon its present name (from Russian Sosnovy bor, such as " pine grove").

Regional road 58K-147 leads to Sosnovoborsk and branches off the federal highway M5 Moscow  - Samara  - Chelyabinsk about 25 km south in Machalino . On this road, about 17 km south of the settlement, the closest train station, Sjusyum, is at km 805 on the route (Moscow -) Ryashsk  - Penza - Syzran . The regional road 58K-257 runs from Sosnovoborsk to the north to the neighboring Nikolsk district center, 50 km away .
