Koniszki ( German  Theerofen ) is a settlement in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , part of the rural community Kowale Oleckie (Kowahlen , 1938 to 1945 Reimannswalde) in the Powiat Olecki ( Oletzko district , Treuburg district 1933 to 1945 ).

Geographical location

Koniszki is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 16 kilometers southwest of the former district town of Goldap ( Gołdap in Polish ) and 24 kilometers northwest of today's district metropolis Olecko (Marggrabowa , Treuburg from 1928 to 1945 ) .

history

The present-day Koniszki settlement was originally a ranger's farmstead, built in 1931, of a forester's house belonging to the Rothebude state forest (in Polish: Czerwony Dwór ). The settlement belonged to the estate district "Borker Heide, part for Goldap, Forst" and was reclassified on May 19, 1933 to the rural community of Kallnischken (1938 to 1945: Kunzmannsrode, Polish : Kalniszki ) in the district of Rothebude. Until 1945 this was part of the Goldap district in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

As a result of the war, Theerofen was assigned to Poland along with all of southern East Prussia in 1945 and has been called "Koniszki" since then. Today the settlement is integrated into the Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and belongs to the association of the rural community Kowale Oleckie in Powiat Olecki , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
