history
The small village of Kamyshinka (like the stream, different spelling) has existed in place of the current settlement since 1650. At the end of the 19th century, the Trans-Siberian Railway ran through the place, which was now called Kotschenjowo, and opened on this section in 1896. As a result, the importance of the place grew considerably, especially since Novosibirsk , today's metropolis, which is closest to the route, was only founded in 1893.
In 1960 the place received the status of an urban-type settlement.
