Moschkowo ( Russian Мошково ) is an urban-type settlement (since 1961) in the western Siberian Oblast of Novosibirsk ( Russia ). It has 10,224 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
Moschkowo is located 55 kilometers northeast of the oblast capital Novosibirsk .
The settlement is the administrative center of the Moshkovo Rajon of the same name .
history
Originally, the two villages Alexejewka and Romanowka have been located in the area of today's settlement since the 19th century . The newly built route of the Trans-Siberian Railway separated the two villages; the associated railway station was named Moschkowo . After 1917, the two villages were combined with the station settlement and have since been called Moschkowo.

Economy and Infrastructure
The inhabitants live and work in the surrounding agriculture with some food industry.
Moschkowo has a station on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Moreover Moschkowo is located on the highway M 53 , the part of the transcontinental road link from Moscow to Vladivostok is.
