Kreisberg is a small town in the Mostviertel in Lower Austria , and a locality and cadastral municipality of the municipality and statutory city of St. Pölten . He belongs to the district of St. Georgen am Steinfelde .

geography

The hamlet is located in rural areas on the southwestern city limits, about 8 kilometers southwest of the city ​​center , 2 km west of St. Georgen . It is located on the Pielach-Traisen-Platte , the threshold west of the city, at 338  m above sea level. A. Höhe, south of the road from St. Georgen to Ober-Grafendorf  (L 5183) and the Reitzersdorfer Wald.

The village of Kreisberg consists of only 6 buildings with 25 residents. Four houses form the hamlet, two more the single location Haushagen about half a kilometer southeast.

The cadastral municipality covers the area between the city limits and the street. Farmland extends around the place.

History and nature

From the creation of the local communities in 1848/49, the place belonged to the community of St. Georgen am Steinfelde, and in 1971 it was incorporated into St. Pölten along with it.

To the west of the hamlet stands a large field maple with a trunk circumference of over 2 m , accompanied by a younger tree . It is estimated to be 100 years old and is a natural monument ( P-024 , 1991).
