Krokus is the self-titled first studio album by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus .

background

Musically speaking, the debut album Krokus was still a long way from the hard rock sound that would make the band famous in the early 80s and moved in playful progressive rock realms. The line-up also turned out to be considerably different: In addition to Chris von Rohr , who was still on the drums and partially took over the vocals, and guitarist Tommy Kiefer, who also sang a few vocal passages, rhythm guitarist Hansi Droz and bassist Remo Spadino completed the formation. Since the intended singer Peter Richard, who was behind the microphone at the first appearance of Krokus , was only available for a while, the following live performances, which were also performed in the opening act of the then less well-known Scorpions , were signed up Singer Daniel Debrit. Because he soon quit, Chris von Rohr switched from drums to vocals for the successor To You All . In addition, before the recordings of Droz and Spadino's second album, Rohr and Kiefer separated. The line-up was completed by three members from Montezuma, namely guitarist Fernando von Arb, bassist Jürg Naegeli and drummer Freddy Steady. The so-called "Eisbrecher" Krokus , recorded in the Sinus Studio in Bern and produced by Peter J. Mac Taggart, has only been released as an LP with a number of 560 pressings to date.
