history

Men's

Kuwait first took part in a world championship in 1976 . The team finished their debut without a win in tenth and last place. With the exception of the 1977 and 2001 events , the team always took part in the finals. While 10th place in 1976 is de facto the best so far, the team reached the second round for the first time in 2009 .

Since 2004, Kuwait has been one of the strongest teams at the Asian Championships . Between the first edition in 1981 and 2002, the team only reached the semi-finals in 1990 and otherwise failed in the group stage. Kuwait has been in at least the semi-finals since 2004: in 2004 and 2010 the team finished fourth, in 2006, 2012 and 2014 they finished third. In 2008 she was in the final of the competition for the first time, which she lost to Malaysia .
