Lea Schüller (born November 12, 1997 in Tönisvorst ) is a German soccer player . She has been under contract with FC Bayern Munich since July 2020 and has been active for the German national team since 2017 .
Career
societies
Schüller started playing soccer at Hülser SV and moved to the youth department of SGS Essen in summer 2012 . Still eligible to play for the B-Juniors , she made her debut on December 1, 2013 at the age of 16 in the 0-2 home defeat against VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga . Almost four months later, on February 26, 2014, she scored her first two Bundesliga goals in a 3-1 away win against BV Cloppenburg . In July 2017, Schüller extended her contract with SGS Essen until June 30, 2019.
With her team she reached the final of the DFB Cup against VfL Wolfsburg on July 4, 2020 and scored the fastest goal in the women's cup competition with the goal to make it 1-0 after just twelve seconds in the 2: 4 defeat on penalties .
For the season 2020/21 Lea Schüller moves to Bayern Munich . The national player signed a three-year contract and will play for FCB at least until 2023. She receives jersey number 11.
National team
In 2014, Schüller took part in the World Cup in Costa Rica with the U-17 national team , where he played in all three group matches . With the U-19 national team, she took part in the European Championship , which was held in Israel from July 15 to 27, 2015 , and also played all three group matches and the semi-finals, which were lost 2: 4 on penalties against Sweden's selection . In November and December 2016 she took part in the U-20 World Cup in Papua New Guinea for the DFB's U-20s , but was eliminated with the team in the quarter-finals against France.
In June 2017, Schüller was appointed to the German senior national team for the first time and took part in a course under national coach Steffi Jones in Harsewinkel . In her A international debut on October 20, 2017, she scored her first goal in a 3-2 defeat in the qualifying game for the 2019 World Cup against Iceland in Wiesbaden with the goal of the final score in the 88th minute, nine minutes after being substituted for Leonie Maier . In her sixth international match on April 7, 2018, she scored all four goals in a 4-0 win over the Czech Republic . For the World Cup finals, she was appointed to the German team by the new national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg .
