Sørensen started playing football at Jernløse IF when he was six . After stints at MV05, BSF and the Roadrunners , the women's soccer team during her college studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio , for which she scored three goals in 17 games from August 17 to October 28, 2012, she joined Brøndby IF in 2013 . With the club was twice Danish champion and won the club cup three times . On June 20, 2017, she received a two-year contract with the Swedish first division club FC Rosengård .

At European level, she was eliminated in her first season with Brøndby in the 2013/14 UEFA Women's Champions League in the round of 32 against FC Barcelona . They did not lose, but after a 0-0 win in Spain and a 2-2 home game, the away goals rule against the Danes spoke . In both games she was substituted on, in the second leg in the 62nd minute and in the fourth minute of stoppage time, she had made it 2-2 with her first CL goal.

In the following season they survived the sixteenth finals, but needed extra time to prevail against the Cypriot champions Apollon Limassol , because after a 0-1 away defeat it was 1-0 in the home game after 90 minutes for the hosts, for which they did with theirs second CL goal in the 40th minute. The Cypriot players equalized in extra time, but the Danes then scored two more goals. After that they advanced to the semi-finals, where they lost 7-0 and 6-0 against the eventual winner 1. FFC Frankfurt . 2015/16 ended again in the round of 32. After a 1: 4 defeat against Czech champions Slavia Prague , in which she was not used, the 1-0 home win with her third CL goal in the second minute was not enough. Things went a little better in 2016/17 where they at least survived the sixteenth-finals against SKN St. Pölten with a 2-0 away win and a 2-2 at home. With her fourth CL goal, she had ensured the 1: 1 equalization in the meantime. In the round of 16 they then lost 1-0 at Manchester City and only made a 1-1 draw at home.

At the turn of the year she was signed by FC Bayern Munich , with whom she signed a contract valid until June 30, 2022. She made her competitive debut for the club on August 18, 2019 (2nd match day) in the league game of the second team, which won 2-1 at Arminia Bielefeld . She crowned her competitive debut for the first team on September 7, 2019 in the second round match of the DFB Cup in a 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt with her first goal, the 2-0 goal in the 18th minute.

National team

On September 21, 2007 she had her first appearance in the Danish U-17 team in a friendly game in England, which they won 2-1 against the "Young Lionesses". Two days later they even won 3-0 against the English women. In October 2007 and March 2008, she then took part with the U-17 team in the two qualifying rounds for the U-17 European Championship 2008 , which the Danes successfully completed. In the finals she was used in the 0-1 in the semi-finals against Germany and in the 4-1 in the game for third place against England. In doing so, she was able to compensate for the early leadership of the English women. By participating in the finals, the Danes were already qualified for the U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand in 2008 . There she was able to equalize the lead of the South Americans in the first game against Colombia to make it 1-1. It was then used in the next games, which brought Denmark first the group victory in the preliminary round, but then the knockout round against North Korea. The game on November 8, 2008 against North Korea was their last game for the U-17 team.

On March 27, 2009, she had her first appearance in the U-19 team in the decisive game of the final qualifying round for the U-19 European Championship 2009 against the Scottish women. But they lost 1: 2, so that qualification for the finals was missed. She then also took part in both qualifying rounds for the U-19 European Championship 2010 , which was also unsuccessful. In qualifying for the U-19 European Championship 2011 , it was only used in the second qualifying round, tied on points with the Netherlands and France, however, due to the worse goal difference in the direct comparisons, they only finished second and were only fourth-best group runner-up qualified for the finals. With these games, her time as a junior national player ended. On September 15, 2011 she played her only game or half time for the U-23 team, which was lost 6-0 to Norway.

On December 8, 2011, she had her first appearance in the senior national team when she came on as a substitute for Mariann Gajhede Knudsen at the four-nation tournament in Brazil against the national team of Chile in the 83rd minute when the score was 2-0 . In the final against the Brazilian national team , which ended 2-1, she was substituted on for Knudsen, this time three minutes before the end of the game without being able to turn the tide again. After that she had to wait almost two years for her next international match. She was then in the squad in the competition for the Algarve Cup 2013 , but was injured there so that she could not be used and thus also missed the 2013 European Championship finals. On October 26, 2013, she came on as a 1: 1 substitute in the first match of qualifying for the 2015 World Cup against the Serbian national team in the 81st minute for her third international match.

This was followed by renewed participation in the competition for the Algarve Cup 2014 , in which she was used in the three group games and in the 5-3 win over the national team of the United States - the only tournament victory - scored her first international goal to meanwhile 3-0 . It was also used in six other games of the unsuccessful qualification for the 2015 World Cup . In this, the Danes were group favorites due to their performance at the EM 2013, but were ultimately only third in the group behind the Swiss national team , which qualified for the first time, and the Icelandic national team . This was followed by appearances in the group matches for the Algarve Cup 2016 and eight appearances in the successful qualification for the 2017 European Championship . After three appearances in the group matches for the 2017 Algarve Cup , she was nominated for the 2017 European Championship finals in June 2017 . At the European Championship she was used in all six games and was only replaced in the final when the score was 2: 3 due to an injury. The substitute for them Røddik Hansen could not change the game and Denmark lost 2: 4.
