The Lehrdewiesen are a landscape protection area in the Lower Saxony municipality of Kirchlinteln in the Verden district .

The protected landscape area is around 313  hectares in size. A large part of the landscape protection area is part of the FFH area “Lehrde und Eich”. It borders on the " Lehrdetal " nature reserve , in the northeast also on the " Verdener Moor " nature reserve and in the west on the " Untere Allerniederung im Landkreis Verden " nature reserve . In the south-west it borders on the "Oterser Dünen" landscape protection area, a small part of which is part of the "Lehrdewiesen" landscape protection area. The landscape protection area replaced the parts of the landscape protection area “Lehrdetal im Landkreis Verden” that did not merge into the “Lehrdetal” nature reserve. The area has been under landscape protection since January 12, 2019.

The landscape protection area, which consists of several sub-areas, extends along the valley of the Lehrde between the district road 22 on the border with the districts of Rotenburg (Wümme) and Heidekreis and the Allerdeich before the mouth of the Lehrde into the Aller . It places areas on both sides of the Lehrde under protection that are directly adjacent to the “Lehrdetal” nature reserve. The area lies in the floodplain area of ​​the Lehrde and its tributaries.

The landscape protection area is predominantly characterized by agricultural land . In between there are hedges , groups of trees and small-scale forests, which are formed as mixed oak forests, oak-hornbeam forests and beech forests primarily with English oak , mountain ash , silver birch , hornbeam , bird cherry and red beech as well as alluvial and alder forests with alder and ash. In the oak forests, the shrub layer is mainly formed by hazel , common hawthorn and blackthorn . In the herb layer settle Athyrium filix-femina , Thorny male fern , Great chickweed , wood sorrel , Lonicera Periclymenum and small balsam . In the beech forests, the shrub layer is largely absent, the herb layer is only sparsely formed with wiryweed and thorny worm fern, as well as panicle grass , multi-flowered white root and chickweed. Hedges are primarily formed by English oak, black alder , ash , mountain ash, aspen, and silver birch. In addition, there are common hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, European eucoat , common snowball , common bird cherry , gray willow and buckthorn . The agricultural areas are often cultivated as grassland . They are partly characterized as wet meadows and hay meadows on poor locations. Furthermore, tall herbaceous areas , reed beds , reeds and swamps are formed.

On extensively used grassland meadows are Common yarrow , plantain , Sharp Buttercup , Big Sorrel , Gamanderehrenpreis , daisies , grass chickweed , red fescue , Exceptional sweet vernal grass , cuckoo flower , meadow foxtail and Woolly honey grass to find. In addition, there are some creeping Günsel and Vogelwicke . Cuckoo cloves , marsh horn clover and meadow sedge can also be found on damp locations . Grasslands on wet locations are often rich in sedges and rushes . In places there are still waters , some of which arose from oxbow lakes of the Lehrde. Yellow pond rose and swimming pondweed as well as sporadic small duckweed and multi-rooted pond lens settle here . Reed, common rush, panicle sedge, swamp sword lily and common frog spoon can be found along the banks . In places, trees such as black alder and gray willow falter. In addition, tributaries of the Lehrde and trenches run through the landscape protection area. The Beverbach, which flows to the Lehrde near Ihlden, and the Vethbach , which flows into the Lehrde below Wittlohe , have flooding aquatic vegetation, which is primarily made up of simple hedgehog's cob and swimming spawn.

The valley of the Lehrde is a habitat and a walking corridor for otters and beavers . For various bats , including greater mouse-eared , Bechstein's bat and Barbastelle are forests and lowland habitat and foraging habitat. The area has a meaning for the green hippopotamus .

In the area breed and. a. the bird species goldenhammer , blackcatcher , skylark , yellow wagtail , colin , red backed killer and cuckoo . It is also a feeding habitat for white storks and gray herons as well as several species of birds of prey , including red kite , black kite , buzzard and kestrel . In the winter months, among other also are egrets , Harrier and Shrike be found as a guest birds.

The flowing waters are home to occurrences of the brook and river lamprey .
