List of motorway junctions and triangles in Schleswig-Holstein

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of motorway junctions and triangles in Schleswig-Holstein contains all junctions of federal motorways in the area of Schleswig-Holstein .

description

A total of ten motorways run through Schleswig-Holstein: At around 144 km, Federal Motorway 7 ( Handewitt - Bönningstedt ) is the longest motorway in the state. Other supraregional motorways that run at least partially through Schleswig-Holstein are the Federal Motorway 1 ( Heiligenhafen - Oststeinbek ) with around 118 km, the Federal Motorway 23 ( Heide - Halstenbek ) with around 93 km, the Federal Motorway 24 ( Barsbüttel - Gudow ) with around 46 km, the federal motorway 20 ( Bad Segeberg - Groß Grönau ) with around 40 km and the federal motorway 25 with around 4 km. The federal motorway 21 ( Stolpe - Hammoor ) runs exclusively through Schleswig-Holstein for around 53 km, as well as the smaller feeder motorways A 210 , A 215 and A 226 .

These motorways meet seven times within Schleswig-Holstein, of which twice as a motorway triangle (both designed as motorway bifurcations) and five times as a motorway intersection. Four of the junctions alone are on the A 1. Three of these structures are located in the metropolitan area of the state capital Kiel ( Kiel-West , Bordesholm , Rendsburg ), two in the Lübeck metropolitan area ( Lübeck , Bad Schwartau ) and one on the city limits to the Hanseatic city of Hamburg ( Hamburg -East ). The Bargteheide cross is located between Hamburg and Lübeck.

history

The history of motorway construction in Schleswig-Holstein begins on May 13, 1937 with the opening of the 50 km long section of the A1 between Hamburg-Horn and Lübeck-Zentrum . Just one year later, the A1 was extended to the Lübeck-Siems junction (today's A 226) and the short junction to the Seeretz junction was built. Thus the Eutin branch (today's triangle Bad Schwartau) was created as the first junction in Schleswig-Holstein. Further construction projects were interrupted by the Second World War.

It was not until 1969, around 31 years later, that the A 7 between Neumünster-Nord and Großenaspe could be completed in the northern federal state. Until 1978 the A 7 between the border with Denmark and Hamburg was completely passable. Also in 1978, the Hamburg-Ost junction was completed with the opening of the eastern branch A 24 for traffic.

On the occasion of the sailing competitions held in Kiel as part of the 1972 Summer Olympics , the A 210 was built as a feeder motorway to the A 7 and connected to the latter by the Bordesholm motorway triangle .

The A1 between Bad Schwartau and Oldenburg in Holstein was completed between 1975 and 1980, and since the 2000s, further sections have been opened up to Heiligenhafen-Ost.

At the end of the 1980s, the federal highways 23, 24, 25 and 210 were opened to traffic, resulting in the crosses Rendsburg and Kiel-West in Schleswig-Holstein .

By upgrading the four-lane federal highway 404 to BAB 21 in 1998, the Bargteheide junction was created .

After the reunification , the volume of traffic between the old and new federal states increased, which made it necessary to build new highways. In order to better develop the Baltic Sea area, Autobahn 20 was built as the longest continuous new federal freeway since 1945 and connected to the A1 near Lübeck in 2001 (eastern section) and 2009 (western section).

The Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030 includes the western extension of the A 20 and the southern part of the A 21, two new construction projects that require the construction of further junctions. It is planned that the A 20 (from east to west) will cross the A 21 at Bad Segeberg, the A 7 at Schmalfeld and the A 23 at Steinburg. The A 21 is to have junctions with the A 24 at Schwarzenbek and the A 25 at Geesthacht.

Legend

  • Map : shows a map of the location of the motorway triangle or motorway junction.
  • Name / location : gives the name and links the geographic coordinates of the building. The basic sorting of the list takes place according to the actual name, not according to the construction designation.
  • Streets : names the streets that the intersection connects with each other.
  • Opening : indicates the year of opening to traffic.
  • Description : provides information on the motorway triangle or motorway junction, for example on the design and the intersecting motorways.
  • Traffic : indicates the average number of vehicles per day using the intersection.
  • Image: shows an image of the structure, either as an aerial photograph or as an illustration of a direction board within the intersection.

Since the A 210 ends at the A 215, the Kiel-West junction is actually a motorway triangle. However, the Mettenhof feeder was also connected and due to the resulting complex design ( clover leaf with semi-direct ramp ) it is a motorway junction. 069,000 vehicles View of the A 215 from the bridge Rendsburger Landstrasse.jpg
