The Bad Schwartau motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Bad Schwartau ; short form: Bad Schwartau triangle ) is a motorway triangle near Lübeck in Schleswig-Holstein . It connects the federal highway 1 ( Vogelfluglinie ; E 47 ) with the federal highway 226 .
geography
The motorway triangle lies in the area of the independent Hanseatic city of Lübeck, on the border with Bad Schwartau and Ratekau in the Ostholstein district . The surrounding villages are Bad Schwartau-Kaltenhof , Lübeck-Dänischburg and Ratekau-Sereetz . It is located about 5 km north of Lübeck's old town , about 20 km south of Neustadt in Holstein and about 60 km southeast of Kiel . The Schwartau flows through the triangle from north to south, before flowing into the Trave around 1 km further south .
The Bad Schwartau motorway triangle has junction number 20 on the A 1 and number 1 on the A 226.
history
The crossing structure was opened in 1938, making it the oldest in Schleswig-Holstein. At that time, the A1 was built between the Lübeck-Zentrum and Lübeck-Siems junctions (today part of the A 226) and the short stretch to Seeretz. Thus the “Eutin branch” was created as the predecessor of today's Bad Schwartau motorway triangle.
Design and state of development
The A 226 and the A 1 to the north have four lanes in this area, the A 1 has six lanes to the south. The connecting ramps have two lanes as they also mark the starting point of the A 226. Only the connections Hamburg - Travemünde and vice versa exist , the missing ramps from the A 226 in the direction of Heiligenhafen and vice versa are served by the state road 181 between the Seeretz (A 1) and Lübeck-Dänischburg (A 226) junctions .
The triangle was designed as a fork . The main bridge structure leads the A 1 over the A 226.
Traffic volume
The triangle is traveled by an average of around 62,000 vehicles every day.
