Categorization of mountains in the United Kingdom

There are a number of categorizing names for mountains in the UK, such as:

  • Scotland
    • Munros : Altitude over 3000 feet (914.4 m).
    • Corbetts : Altitude between 2500 feet and 3000 feet (762.0 m to 914.4 m).
    • Donalds : Mountains of the Lowlands , elevation over 2000 feet (609.6 m).
    • Grahams : Altitude between 2000 feet and 2500 feet (609.6 m to 762.0 m).
  • outside of Scotland
    • Furths: Mountains outside Scotland that meet the criteria for Munros.
    • Nuttalls : Mountains in England and Wales, elevation over 2000 feet, relative elevation over 49 feet (15 m).
    • Hewitts : Mountains in England, Wales and Ireland, elevation over 2000 feet, relative elevation over 98 feet.
    • Wainwrights : Mountains in the Lake District National Park that have their own chapter in one of Alfred Wainwright's picture guides.
  • Marilyns : Mountains in the British Isles with a relative height of over 150 m (492 ft)
