List of cultural assets in Biel / Bienne (outer districts)

The list of cultural assets in Biel / Bienne (outer districts) contains all objects outside the city center of Biel / Bienne in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural property in armed conflict and the ordinance of October 29, 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict are protected. Objects are listed in the districts of Bözingen , Champagne , Madretsch Nord , Madretsch Süd , Mett , Rebberg and Vingelz .

Objects in categories A and B are completely included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

The painter Léo-Paul Robert had the studio built in 1886 in order to be able to paint three wall paintings for the art museum in Neuchâtel . Later as an exhibition room, today an artist's studio for scholarship holders. The striking feature of the historicist building is the kink hipped roof with ogival EASONS , cross gables and a large window. The facade is decorated with elements of the neo-renaissance and neo-Gothic styles.

Roman Catholic church building in neo-Gothic style, built by Adolf Gaudy between 1926 and 1929 , replaced the previous building built by Wilhelm Keller from 1869/70. The massive bell tower and the monumental portal determine the front view, in the crossing a domed room rises. The interiors are designed in an expressionist manner.

Pavilion built in 1897/98 in the form of a small Tuscan round temple on eight columns. The picturesque stone building with a prominent vantage point on a small rocky nose replaced a previously burned wooden building.

Voluminous building in a brittle Bernese country house style under a sweeping, L-shaped floor plan, angled hipped roof with dominant dormer windows . The imposing building on the steep slope above the city consists of an elongated main wing and two asymmetrically arranged wings under transverse gables. One of the largest industrial buildings in Biel from the early 20th century.

The steel frame building has a curtain wall clad with Corten and is a multifunctional complex consisting of lecture halls, classrooms, auditorium, library and swimming pool, which is cleverly inserted into a stepped area. Characteristic, consistently formulated example of Schlup's simple steel-glass cubes based on modular floor plans.

Representative administration building of the watch manufacturer Omega SA built in 1955/56 in the style of post-war modernism . Concrete skeleton construction set at right angles to the factory wing with a strict grid facade made of cassette-like artificial stone elements , a large canopy and elaborately staged staircase fronts.
