The list of museums in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen includes the public and private, accessible museums and exhibitions of the State of Bremen with the two cities of Bremen and Bremerhaven .

Once a year, the city of Bremen organizes the "Long Night of Bremen Museums", most recently on June 2, 2018, with more than 20 museums, art exhibitions and historic houses.

In 2014, 821,490 visitors came to the museums of the state of Bremen, of which around 451,000 (+ 6% compared to the previous year) in the city of Bremen and 370,544 (- 6%) in the seaside city of Bremerhaven.

The number of visitors to the 15 larger museums decreased significantly between 2006 and 2016 in both Bremen and Bremerhaven:

  • City of Bremen: 579,309 to 347,819 by 231,490 = 40%
  • Bremerhaven: 546,084 to 375,600 by 170,484 = 31%
  • State of Bremen: 1,125,393 to 723,419 by 401,974 = 36%
