This list of number one hits is based on the charts of the Italian music magazine Musica e dischi in 1968. There were twelve number one singles and nine number one albums that year.

Week 9 weeks 9 Patty Pravo La bambola Franco Migliacci , Bruno Zambrini, Ruggero Cini - 27.-31. Week 5 weeks 5 Franco IV e Franco I Ho scritto t'amo sulla sabbia Sharade e Sonago With this song, the Italian beat duo took third place in the Un disco per l'estate competition in 1968. 32–34 Week 3 weeks 3 Jimmy Fontana La nostra favola Barry Mason , Les Reed , Paolo Dossena Fontana was able to reach the top of the charts with an Italian version of the Tom Jones hit Delilah . 35-40 Week 6 weeks 6th Adriano Celentano Azzurro Paolo Conte , Michele Virano, Vito Pallavicini - 41st week 1 week 1 Gianni Morandi Il giocattolo Franco Migliacci , Bruno Zambrini, Luis Bacalov - 42nd week 1 week 1 1910 Fruitgum Co.
