This little church owes its construction to the former “spa” Egerdach , whose springs were discovered in 1620 by P. Pompanin. As is typical for such baths, the discoverer, who was awarded “the newly invented Prunnenwasser zu Egerdach” on May 22nd, 1620, created an entire ensemble of buildings at the source: the bathhouse, an inn and this little church. In 1980 the chapel became the property of the SOS Children's Village Imst association. In 1997/98 the chapel was restored with the support of the City of Innsbruck, the State of Tyrol and the Federal Monuments Office. Escape to Egypt .
