In 1511, Emperor Maximilian I had the “picture house” built to store the finished statues from his tomb. It was connected to the cast ironworks to the south and housed living rooms in the front third, behind a large hall for the statues. Between 1565 and 1571, the building was rebuilt and given an upper floor with a high gable roof. The hall was either vaulted for the first time or newly vaulted. The building then went to the hammer smith Benedikt Dillitz. From 1795 it served as the community center and school of Mühlau, in the 19th century it was converted into a factory building and in the 1870s it was converted into a residential building. The facade is designed in neo-baroque style, the cross vault of the three-aisled, four-bay hall is supported by six breccia columns from 1570.
