One year after the death of Ewald Christian von Kleist , a complete edition of his works is published for the first time in Berlin. The editor of the two-volume work is a longtime friend of Kleist, the poet and philosopher Karl Wilhelm Ramler .

Lettres sur la danse et les ballets , Lyon 1760

The French dancer and choreographer Jean Georges Noverre wrote the theoretical treatise Lettres sur la Danse et sur les Ballets ( Letters on the Art of Dance ), one of the most important works on ballet to this day .

  • The Swiss physician Samuel-Auguste Tissot published the work L'Onanisme in which he postulated that masturbation leads to diseases. The work went through numerous editions and translations.
