Louisa Krause (born May 20, 1986 in Falls Church , Virginia ) is an American film, television and theater actress who also works as a musical actress . She played a leading role in The Girlfriend Experience .

Life

Krause was born and raised in Falls Church, Virginia. Her father is half Japanese from Okinawa and her mother is American. Her younger brother Nathaniel is a director . She took an interest in the arts and acting in her teens while studying dance at the Washington School of Ballet in Washington, DC . After Krause entered high school, dance took a back seat as she began starring in a variety of plays and musicals , including Side Show as Violet Hilton , Gypsy as Mama Rose, and Equus as Dora Strang . After graduating from high school, she enlisted in Carnegie Mellon Drama School . Soon after starting her studies she began to work as a professional actress. She earned her start-up capital by performing in a summer camp production of the musical Aida .
