Lyssjanka ( Ukrainian Лисянка ; Russian Лысянка , Polish Łysianka ) is an urban-type settlement in Cherkassy Oblast in the middle of Ukraine .
Lyssyanka today has about 8,000 inhabitants and is the administrative center of Lyssyanka district , which includes 38 surrounding villages.
Lysyanka is how about 20 km southeast situated next city Zvenyhorodka on the river Hnyly Tikych , a tributary of the Synjucha .
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1593, and in 1622 the settlement was granted Magdeburg city rights . In 1674 the battle of Lisianka took place near the place, and since 1965 the place has had the status of an urban-type settlement.
