Maibach is a district of Butzbach in the Hessian Wetteraukreis in the eastern Hintertaunus .
Geographical location
The place is in the eastern Hintertaunus , surrounded by the forests of the Taunus Nature Park . Maibach is located southwest of the main town. The Krebsbach flows between the two places and the Michelbach flows at the foot of the village . A brook usually runs down to it from the place where the Maibach sewage treatment plant is located in the Im Rabenzahl district .
The Maibach area is also known as Maibacher Switzerland . Especially because of the impressive rock formations in the area.
Neighboring towns are Michelbach (west), Bodenrod (north), Wiesental (east) and Wernborn (south).
history
Maibach was first mentioned in 1336 when a resident who emigrated to Friedberg was mentioned, "Johan Meydebecher". The school was founded in 1680 and the Protestant church was built from 1764 to 1766 . The small outdoor pool was laid out in 1959, when the school and the village community center were also built .
Territorial reform
As part of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Maibach was incorporated into the city of Butzbach on August 1, 1972 by virtue of state law . For Maibach, as for the other parts of the city, a local district with a local advisory board and a local mayor was established.

A long-distance hiking trail leads through Maibach , the Ardennes Trail , which connects the Bohemian Forest with the Atlantic .
