geography

The small village of Klein Gorschin was about 5 km west of Muttersdorf and 2.6 km north of Waier. The Radbuza is about 600 m away in the valley west of Klein Gorschin. Klein Gorschin was on an old toll road that led from Hostau via Muttersdorf , Wasserau (Ostrov), Klein Gorschin, over the saddle between Glöckelberg (Malý Zvon) and Weingartenfels , past Reichenstein to Schönsee . At Klein Gorschin there is granulite , a type of gneiss .

history

Klein Gorschin was first mentioned in writing in 1579. Klein Gorschin belonged to Gut Schwanenbrückl, which was bought in 1609 by the Lords of Wiedersperg auf Muttersdorf . The villages Pfaffenberg, Großgorschin, Putzbühl, Althütten , Johanneshütte, Friedrichshof, Schnaggenmühle, Franzbrunnhütte, Schwarzach , Oberhütten and Unterhütten also belonged to this estate . In 1644 there were six farms in Klein Gorschin, the owners of which had the following names: Steffl Sperl, Bartl Sperl, Friedl Sperl, Wölfl Safra, Fridl Safra, Martin Multermacher. In 1656, Klein Gorschin belonged to Gut Neu Schwanenbrückl with five Chalupners , a gardener, 20 teams, 10 cows, 20 young cattle and 21 pigs. From 1675 the hamlet of Putzbühl belonged to Klein Gorschin. In 1717 Klein Gorschin had eight farms.

The village was part of the community of Groß Gorschin and initially belonged to the parish and the Muttersdorf estate. The children also went to school in Muttersdorf. From 1787 the children were enrolled in the nearby Schwanenbrückl.

In Klein Gorschin there was a military cordon station, which was used to guard the border from 1772 to 1822.
