To the northeast of Schwanenbrückl is the 708 meter high Výšina (German: Neubäuhöhe). In Schwanenbrückl, the Mostecký potok (German: Glöcklbach) flows into the Radbuza from the southwest .

An asphalt road runs from Rybník through the Radbuzatal via Schwanenbrückl to Smolov (German: Schmolau). In the vicinity of this road from south to north are the desert areas Rindl (Czech: Korytany), Pfaffenberg (Czech: Kněžská), Althütten (Czech: Stara Hut '), Groß Gorschin (Czech: Velký Horšín), Putzbühl (Czech: Horka) , Klein Gorschin (Czech: Malý Horšín), Auf der Platten, Engelhäusel (Czech: Englova chaloupka), Neubau (Czech: Novosedly), Wespenhäusel, Fuchsberg (Czech: Liščí Hora), Hammerschleife, Neubauschleife, Geisschlagsschleife and Rosendorf (Czech: Růžovsky) ). A paved road begins in Schwanenbrückl and leads west along the Glöcklbach very steeply over the northern flank of the Malý Zvon to Plöss . The deserted areas Johanneshütte (Czech: Jánská Huť), Strasshütte (Czech: Štráská Huť), Wenzelsdorf (Czech: Václav) and Rappauf (Czech: Rabov) lie on this road from east to west .

Place name

Schwanenbrückl belonged to the possessions of the Lords of Schwanberg (Czech ze Švamberka) until the 16th century . The Lords of Schwanberg came from the clan of the Burgraves of Pfraumberg . Their property, which originated in Pfraumberg (Czech: Přimda), had a border at the wooden bridge in Schwanenbrückl. That is why her coat of arms with the swan was on the bridge.

history

In 1596 Emperor Rudolf II sold Schwanenbrückl to the smelter Paul Schürer. Paul Schürer came from a family of glaziers from northern Bohemia. He founded a glassworks in Schwanenbrückl . This glassworks was also called Neue Hütte in contrast to the existing glassworks in Althütten.

In 1609 the gentlemen von Wiedersperg bought the glassworks on Muttersdorf with all the land and buildings that belonged to it. This is how Schwanenbrückl became the seat of its own estate. In addition to Schwanenbrückl itself, this estate included the villages of Pfaffenberg, Großgorschin, Kleingorschin , Putzbühl, Althütten , Johanneshütte, Friedrichshof, Schnaggenmühle, Franzbrunnhütte, Schwarzach , Oberhütten and Unterhütten. These villages existed until shortly after the Second World War . Then they perished as a result of the construction of border fortifications and the expulsion of the Germans from Czechoslovakia in the years 1946 to 1960 and are today (2017) devastation.

Schwanenbrückl belonged to the Muttersdorf parish. Schwanenbrückl had a two-class school since 1787. In 1789 Schwanenbrückl had 30 houses and 2 glassworks. The Schwanenbrückl glassworks closed in 1839. The village now had 25 houses, 195 inhabitants, 1 distillery, 1 potash boiler, 1 stately forester's house, 1 meierhof, 1 old castle, 2 mills and 1 board saw.

Old bridge in Schwanenbrückl

In 1913 Schwanenbrückl had 36 houses and 205 inhabitants. In 1930 there were 30 houses in Schwanenbrückl, 225 Germans and 5 Jews. Together with Johanneshütten (8 houses) and Althütten (60 houses), Schwanenbrückl formed a community with 711 inhabitants in 1939. In 1945 there were 52 houses in Schwanenbrückl.

After the Munich Agreement , Schwanenbrückl was added to the German Reich and belonged to the Bischofteinitz district until 1945 .

Today there is a recently built forester's house in Schwanenbrückl. There is also the stone bridge over the Radbuza, built in 1809 and restored in 1990 and 2005, which is a listed building.
