history

Neid was founded during the Thirty Years' War and was first mentioned in writing in 1644 in the partition contract of the Muttersdorf rule . At that time there were 7 settlers in Závist: Hans Schröpfer, Georg Distler, Hans Kaltz, Simon Holzgärtner, Girgl Hauser, Girgl Widl Girgl Hilpert. Hans Kaltz was envious judge in 1649. In 1654 there were 7 cottagers , 10 oxen, 17 cows, 28 calves and 36 pigs in Neid .

Envy was initially parish and schooled in Muttersdorf. From 1786 it belonged to the parish Waier and the children went to school in Waier.
