Weitmar-Mark is a district in the Bochum-Südwest district . Its center point is the intersection of Markstrasse, Karl-Friedrich-Strasse, Heinrich-König-Strasse and Kemnader Strasse. Weitmar-Mark also includes Weitmarer wood .

Around 1880 an industrial boom developed due to the Ruhr mining industry, which was expressed, among other things, in the construction of new school buildings on Karl-Friedrich-Strasse and Neulingstrasse.

On the Pfarrer-Halbe-Straße there is a weekly market on a small square of 2,292 m² every Tuesday and Friday mornings. EDEKA is planning to build a small shopping center, which the rest of the retail industry sees critically.

The Erbstollen-Park also has a football field, which is used by SV Blau-Weiß Weitmar 09 .
