Life

20 year service anniversary (2019)

The son of a German artist and a Hungarian teacher, Huss grew up in Banfield (Argentina) . He attended a German-speaking primary school and a Spanish-speaking grammar school. As an amateur violinist, he first came into contact with wind music in 1977. In his parish there was a small brass ensemble, which he soon took over voluntarily. While studying agricultural engineering , he supervised 14 wind groups on the Río de la Plata . As early as 1980, at the age of 20, he became a volunteer representative for wind instruments for the German Evangelical Church at La Plata . He carried out this task until 1998. After successfully completing his agricultural studies in 1989, he made a concert tour through Germany at the time of the fall of the Wall and the peaceful revolution in the GDR . He was offered a scholarship to study at the University of Church Music of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . During the two-year study in Herford (1990–1992) he met his wife Claudia. After taking the exam in wind choir conducting, he returned to Argentina with his wife; because according to the contract between the Evangelical Church of Westphalia and the Evangelical Church on La Plata, he could expect employment in Argentina. Nothing came of it. After five arduous years, he was elected state trombonist in 1999 from among a number of applicants and appointed to this position by the Upper Church Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mecklenburg . He moved to Barkow (Barkhagen) with his wife and three children . The Mecklenburg Bläserkreis was founded in 1999 . This was followed in 2000 by the Junge Mecklenburger Bläserkreis (JBMV since 2008) and in 2001 by the “UHUs” (under-centenarians). In the wind group (since 2007 BMV), 20 wind instruments and choir directors from all over Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are currently playing. The repertoire ranges from Johann Sebastian Bach to blues , from swing to gospel and, last but not least, to Latin American music . The ensemble has arranged wind music and concerts in village and town churches. It also occurs at church conventions and regional festivals. It has made guest appearances in various countries , in Poland , the Netherlands , Greece , Hungary and Argentina .

In 2012 the second wind center of the north church was inaugurated in Barkow. His wife Claudia Huss is an organist and is involved in the local council of the village church in Barkow .

On the morning of April 5, Huss and his brass group took over the musical arrangement of the general audience on St. Peter's Square . As part of the general audience , he organized the world premiere of the papal ink Salutatio ad papam and sent the composition to his wife Claudia Huss to Bergoglio from Argentina .

“Bach is the climax of music. From then on it was only downhill. "
