Martina Bortolotti (* 1982 or 1983 in Bozen ) is a South Tyrolean opera singer with a soprano voice .

Life

education

Martina Bortolotti was born as the daughter of the South Tyrolean artist Amadeus Bortolotti and the Padua- born psychologist Donatella Peruzzo and grew up bilingually (German and Italian). In addition, she graduated in English and French from the language school in Bolzano and attended some master classes abroad because she originally intended to work in tourism or as a teacher.

Her love for music eventually led her to the Bolzano Conservatory , where she studied song and oratorio and obtained a singing diploma. She was then accepted for further training at the Academy of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan , where she participated as a soloist and choir member in opera performances and concerts under conductors such as Riccardo Muti and Giovanni Antonini . She attended the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory and obtained the 1st and 2nd degree academic diploma in opera singing and vocal chamber music with distinction.

An Erasmus scholarship took her to the Munich University of Music and Theater under the direction of Helmut Deutsch and Maria Cavazza, where she studied opera and song design, took part in the classes for Slavic, Russian and Jewish vocal music and took part in concert and opera productions at the university. During this time she attended master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender , Teresa Berganza , Rajna Kabaiwanska , Helmut Deutsch , René Clemencic and Gustav Kuhn .

Artistic activity

After graduating from university and gaining initial experience at the Teatro alla Scala, she performed lively concerts at home and abroad. Bortolotti made solo appearances with the orchestra "Archi della Scala" and recitals took her to Vienna , Milan, Braunschweig , Munich and Hanover .

In the field of sacred music, she gained attention at festival appearances in Bolzano and Trento and through performances of the Requiem , the Missa brevis in  B flat (Loreto Mass) and the Vesperae solennes de Confessore by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with the Arteviva orchestra and the Archi della Scala.

During an audition in Milan, the director Chung Kab Gyun became aware of Bortolotti and hired her for the role of Mimi in La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini at the Suncheon Theater in South Korea . Through another audition, she came to the Bolzano City Theater where she sang the title role in the opera Julie by Philippe Boesmans . She performed in Ferrara , Piacenza and Modena and sang in her hometown under the direction of Gustav Kuhn the role of Marzelline in Beethoven's Fidelio .

The recent meeting with Kuhn led to her admission to the Accademia di Montegral , which he directed, and she received an engagement at the Tyrolean Festival Erl , where she appeared as Pamina in Mozart's Magic Flute and as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte , as well as at the chamber music series and sponsor concerts participated. In Wagner's Rheingold she sang the role of Freia and in the Walküre she played Gerhilde.
